Inducer speed
Select speed:

The false phi jump does not go farther for higher inducer speeds. In fact, it may seem to go farther for lower speeds, but this is a contrast effect: when measured, the jump amplitude seems to be independent of inducer speed for a large range of speeds. At very high speed, the jump becomes hard to see, and looks more like a pause. The jump may even be seen, in arbitrary directions, without any inducing motion at all, but most observers report that it is less salient.
